The International Day of Zero Waste was organized by LREN-Kenya on 30th March 2024, and it highlighted both the importance of bolstering waste management globally and the need to promote sustainable consumption and production patterns. It was a day that called for everyone to work together in creating awareness towards waste management. We partnered with the Lake Region Empowerment Network to raise awareness about effective waste management and its importance. Our campaign focused on gardening, reducing waste, reusing items, recycling materials, and composting, all of which are vital aspects of waste management for the betterment of humanity.
